Locked out/in

Locked out/in

Hi everyone @Appleblossom @Zoe7 @Shaz51 @TAB @Bow @Dimity 🙂

Haven't been here a while, welcome to anyone to comment and say hi!

How are you?

Im struggling a bit with the NDIS at the moment. My funding was cut a great deal. I had decided to go on a carer respite while i still had funding, tongiht, but it went very badly 😞 i am now back at home. I hope everyone is doing okay x

Re: Locked out/in

@EternalFlower I saw on another thread you were losing funding. That must be hard, particularly for things you'd have trouble doing or resourcing any other way.

Sorry to hear your respite didn't work out. Are you OK?

It's nice to see you back. I trust you and the kids have been going well. It must be pretty busy.

Re: Locked out/in

@Dimity @TAB thanks it was a bit of a rough time with the funding. It was slashed significantly.

I tried to use the respite at an airbnb, my public mental health team said "go for it!" and book something in.

I got there and to access the airbnb you had to drive into this very rickety alleyway, unpaved. It was very narrow also. I'm not such a confident driver but I didn't feel up to it and i left, and went home. I also apparantly checked in too late, and since I said i'd be coming earlier, they assumed the gate was open, but it locks in the evening. I didn't know I had to let them know when i was coming for that reason.

I feel sad as I was just trying to enjoy the last things from my funding. I also bought some puzzles that are coming - to use whatever I can before my plan ends. On Friday we are having a finalisation of the plan, and I have sent some more reports, but til then, I can use what I want. Perhaps it might take some time after that for it to be finalised.

How are you doing here @Dimity @TAB

missed you!

Re: Locked out/in

That's disappointing @EternalFlower had you planned to stay long? Hope it wasn't a long drive.

Things here are muddling on. There's been on again off again peer support workers and different programs but many of the forum stalwarts are still here - hi @TAB .

Re: Locked out/in

@Dimity i noticed a big change when i came back, it seems very quiet and like there's big gaps in conversations. It made me feel anxious to post like maybe I wasn't wanted? idk. Thank you for sharing openly....

I was planning to stay for 2 nights 😞 It isn't very far away an airbnb. I drive so I hoped to bring my car safely and stay for a bit in peace, but every interaction now has to be with the owner about letting me in and when the gate is (or isn't) open and for me with my mental illness it defeats the purpose. I want to come and go as I like.

is there less peer support workers here now? i notice different titles on the ppl who post, i don't fully understand what they are. I'm sorry its been a bit odd here. Like the idea of forum stalwarts 🙂

Re: Locked out/in

I stayed in airbnb type places in past @EternalFlower  always better when don't have to deal with  owner ie have place to yourself.

Re: Locked out/in

@TAB i remember when you helped me with my car! always good practical advice, thank you!

i go to an air bnb about once a month via ndis respite (soon to be taken away with ndis cuts) and that place was booked out so i tried this new place.
I never deal with the owner, he someties leaves me little presents and there's a guest book but throughout the stay i'm just alone.

in this place they asked me when i was coming and i said 2pm, but i came at 5pm as i dawdled. They said that the gate usually closes around then, and they didn't tell me that coz I said 2pm. Too much hassle. i'm too shy with strangers to deal with them

i hope your place is well heated over the winter. do you stil have your cat?

Re: Locked out/in

I'm glad you're back @EternalFlower . I'm not always good at finding words but I definitely appreciate our interactions, so please don't feel unwanted.

I don't understand the forums changes, perhaps they've reflected different blocks of funding.

Love the cat photo @TAB . I lost my cat a few weeks ago. He was a good boy, about 19 (I'd had him 14 years).
