@Sally77 thats so wrong 😞 my parents diagnosed me (they're not mental health professionals) with BPD when they didn't know what to do with me because i was struggling with addicition/and partying too much.
It is very upsetting because then i felt like i had to proove I didn't have BPD - now I don't care so much, people will always jump to conclusions.
That sounds very inappropriate of your brother, ppl with mental illnesses are peopel first, not just some lable. BPD is also a pretty complex thing to diagnose and it doesn't sound like he understands it or how it can manifest differently in ppl. I'm sorry for the loss of your mother and all that you are going through. I hope you're doing okay and can get through, one day at a time.
It doesn't seem right to me that there is this diagnoses which society interprets as "mean, manipulative, untrustworthy person" - that seems like society just wants to take away certain ppl's voices. So dehumanising 😞
