Hi I live myself and have done for many years now don't even have visitors so can't ask them so I come on here for information. been trying to move for awhile now just wondering what it's like going through housing?.

The housing situation is pretty bleak

 

Are you looking to rent? Or buy?

 

Rentals are slim on the ground, and expensive. There's lots of competition for every property. Apparently the most popular tenants are young tradies, since they'll fix minor issues themselves

 

If you mean the state housing commissions, waiting lists are huge. Even for a transfer from one ministry place to another is a wait of several years. What was formerly known as co-op housing is slightly better. I think the new term is Social Housing, but uncertain

@DogMan79 @Nw rentals are expensive but theres always that issue, there are always going to be some availible though

re social housing i dont have much experience. I am also looking for a rental. It is competitive, but not impossible.

@EternalFlower I'm in social housing. I've been here since 2012

 

When I was approved, I had been couch surfing for a while. And my elderly mum had been told not to live alone. So we applied together and were approved. Mum died a couple of years ago
