I am up

I am up

I am up

Its three o clock in the morning

And I should be asleep in my bed

But I have many thoughts

Running through my head

I sit here at the computer

Staring at the screen

And ponder of the past day

And what it could have been

I start writing

And out comes poetry

It is good for my mind

And it sets it free

I wait in anticipation

For the early morning to pass

As I have to have my medication

And that is my morning task

I have many things to do today

And I wonder where to start

I need to get organized

But take it easy at the same time

So my mind doesn’t everywhere dart

I suppose I should go back to the couch

And rest my weary head

But I have a book beside me

Wanting to be read

I know I need to wind down

But that is easy for me to say

I really do need to get some rest

To have energy for the new day

I guess I will have a coffee

And another cigarette

Then go back to the couch

And finally get some rest

Re: I am up

Hi @Wennie hoping that you were able to rest after getting down these words last night. It's wonderful to be able to use poetry as an outlet like this, I always admire the poems shared here.

I hear that today is quite a busy one for you, how's it going so far?

Re: I am up

Hello @Wennie @Ru-bee

I haven't met you before, but certainly relate your messages about lacking sleep.

It goes a long way to messing with our minds and increasing our suffering.

I don't have any answers for you, but sending gentle thoughts of finding something what will help you
