Any diagnosed germophobes or hoarders on this forum?

Re: Any diagnosed germophobes or hoarders on this forum?

I hope you took it easy today @NatureLover and maybe caught some sun.

I had another full day (unusual) and some positive interactions which boosted my mood. Hopefully it will carry over to tomorrow when it's back to house and garden.

I don't know if there are particular issues adding to your depression... grief certainly and maybe family issues... they're not easy or quick to deal with. I hope you have a restful night and wake more refreshed.

Tomorrow... again... my goal is the kitchen.

Well done 🙂 I hope so.

I don't recall any sun yesterday. I didn't achieve anything except walking to the library to pick up 9 more books. That's all I want to do, knock myself out with books, or sleep.

Thanks for your good wishes. My night was OK thankfully but I still have the depression. I suspect it's grief. Today I need to make it to work and also the chemist on the way for my monthly meds. There is also a farewell I need to try and get to. I hope I'm up to all of that.

Your kitchen sounds difficult, like mine. Sending wishes for you to have good luck with it today.

Re: Any diagnosed germophobes or hoarders on this forum?

I do hope you managed to do what you needed to @NatureLover .

When I was young books were my escape. In adulthood I compulsively bought books maybe hoping for relief. Also to fuel my passion for knowledge. Now I can't switch off to read or meditate, and anyway I have trouble reading the printed page. A backlit screen is fine but I haven't moved to ebooks. I keep promising myself I'll rediscover the joy of reading.

I tackled the kitchen. It's not perfect but it's better. Chores, shopping, caught up with a neighbour. Nothing much. Will have to start watering. Mood varies. At least it's not uniformly low.

Grief/depression/wanting to just read or sleep is understandable after your loss. Hopefully there'll be glimmers where it lifts soon. Did you walk? There may not have been time before work.

Not sure what to aim for tomorrow but garden and vacuuming should be in the mix.

Re: Any diagnosed germophobes or hoarders on this forum?

Hi @Dimity , thanks for your caring message. I was too busy yesterday morning to come online as I couldn't find my script for my antidepressant and was freaking out about that...also still had to write up my notes for my psychologist appt yesterday. But I found the script, went to the chemist, did my notes and the appt went well.

Then this morning early my washing machine broke down...I spent an hour and a half researching new washing machines online, and chose one. Then just before ordering it I went and checked my old machine again...and it was working! So that was happy news. Now I am online here at 12.30 in the afternoon, and it feels odd 😃

I'm so sorry to hear this 😢 I hope you can rediscover it in the easiest way for you, whether e-books or a special light or something...

This post keeps deleting my writing so will continue on another post...

...continued...

Yes, I was able to have a walk early before work on Thursday, thanks. I'm enjoying being out at 6am when it's fine. It actually felt warm at that hour this morning.

Well done on tackling the kitchen 🙂 Chores and shopping are not "nothing" - they are the necessary basics, which is good. They allow us to maybe work on the decluttering afterwards. I'm glad your mood is not low all the time...hoping it continues to grow in terms of the positive mood 🤞

How did you go with the gardening and the vacuuming yesterday?

@Dimity

Re: Any diagnosed germophobes or hoarders on this forum?

Glad things are back under control @NatureLover ... after a couple of worrying starts. Your mornings will be dark again from tomorrow, I hope you can still fit in a walk.

I've been fiddling and doing little bits of tidying. The battery of my new vacuum cleaner has to be charged for 2X 5hrs before use, but I'm getting there. I raked some leaves but there's lots more to be done in the garden. Thanks for understanding about the basics. I really need to do more.

I need to catch up on some upcoming bills, and update some accounts. I haven't used my laptop for ages but will need to maintain software subscriptions... for more projects I've been avoiding.

Do you follow AFL? I don't but it sounds as though the grand final must have been gripping.

Re: Any diagnosed germophobes or hoarders on this forum?

Hi @Dimity , no, I don't follow the AFL...in fact while out walking yesterday evening I ran into some young boys who told me the result...I'd forgotten the Grand Final was on.

I woke up at what I thought was 6am this morning but it was actually 7am. The change of the clocks always throws me. Does it do the same to you?

2x 5 hours, how odd. But does that mean no annoying cord? 🙂

Your personal garden sounds quite large?

It's lovely outside this morning, except for no sun. I wonder if I can tackle the kitchen today. (Sorry to sound like a broken record.) My desk also need tidying as I make lots of lists and they get untidy. I have 20 books ordered at the library and 9 books currently borrowed. But most of the 20 books I've reserved have a long wait time.

Do you use your phone for the SANE Forums? (As you mentioned you haven't used your laptop for ages...) I find it easier to do the forums on my PC.

Hope you have a positive and hopeful day today...

Re: Any diagnosed germophobes or hoarders on this forum?

Thinking of you today @NatureLover and sending lots of love.

💚❤️🧡💛

Re: Any diagnosed germophobes or hoarders on this forum?

I was prepared for the changing of the clocks this time @NatureLover . Yes hopefully the new cordless stick vacuum will be much easier to use and transport.

My garden is fairly small... but not paved so lots of weeding. I intend to mulch.

Yes I use my phone for Forums but it makes using images or emojis difficult.

Today I did more tidying in the kitchen and repotted an orchid... hope your day was fruitful.

Sounds as though you'll have good books to look forward to. I have lots unread... I WILL get back  to them...
