@CannonSalt I agree about the practicality aspect. I mean most people aren't really in a position to get rid of something that costs money to replace simply because it does not bring me joy. I think I could apply that to trinkets or other non functional objects, but I have clothes that don't exactly bring me joy but they were the best for the purpose and the price i could afford.
Also, in terms of finding it kind of scary to get rid of things, someone once gave me a good tip: rather than donating them, put them in a sealed cardboard box. If after 3-6 months it's still in the box ( or in my case I didn't even remember most of what was in there!) then donate it. Keep anything you break into the box to retrieve and use.
