@Glisten hi thanks for checking in on me.  The migraine went away without the vomiting, but that means it is going to come back.  I had flashing last night as well.  I will self care as much as I can.  I hope you are ok.  I will try and share more for the Toolshedians but I have gardening to do as the weather will cool down on the weekend.  Fingers crossed I have the spoons.

It is so true.

Everyday I work on rewriting my unconscious mind. At first it was exhausting, but now I’m leaning into it. If it wasn’t for @tonys  monitoring me, I wouldn’t have noticed the change.

Hey @Glisten .   Wow .  its rare someone tags me to this thread.   Big splashes of colour.  Autumn leaves give way to spring shoots of hope.   Thankyou for your kind words all over the place.  

May I say,  You being receptive to change and the honest view in your mirror takes intelligence and 

maturity.   And thats your hand of aces.  Your the one doing the hard work.  I'm just a lucky observer.

Before I go I better contribute something ..  OK .  here goes.   2 of my little rules to life.

If someone can show me a better way. .    I'm  all  ears.

But at the end of the day,  someone has to say. . .   Paint  it  red.

This is what happened to me, family members who came across as "trying to help me" instead sided and remained loyal to abusers and threw me under the bus 😞

Finally got time to read of all these @scruffypuffball and they're superb! 

The pink one, about it being a red flag when abusers insist early on that they're an honest person etc. reminded me of a quote from Game of Thrones - Entitled psychopath King Joffrey shouts "I am the KING!" to try to get his way. His grandpappy Tywin says, "Any man who must say, "I am the king" is no true king." That quote really stuck with me cos it really does demonstrate this point. If people need to insist they're honest, or nice (like the 'nice guys' who get angry at women who won't have sex with them), or loyal or whatever, then it's probably because they're not those things at all. A kind-hearted person shows their kindness through their deeds, not their words, and they do these nice things because it's in their nature, not because they want the clout. 

I also really like the one, "Shame dies when stories are told in safe spaces" - it's so true! Sharing something that feels shameful, and getting acceptance and validation as a response instead of judgement, is so powerful - an antidote to shame. I think the forums are just such a space 💜
