~ The Toolshed ~

Re: ~ The Toolshed ~

@puzzlingdino @Jynx @Shaz51 @scruffypuffball @Captain24

Here I am sitting with my feelings in the library.

Working on the response to his lawyer.

The anxiety is tiring. Fear of uncertainty is real

I’ve been trying to create a timeline of events so I can remember my financial contributions to the relationship.

Banks don’t keep records of statements any longer than 7 years including digital.

I’m going to have to do the best I can with what I’ve got.

It’s so time consuming.

Re: ~ The Toolshed ~

I had to put a case together against my abuser, it was like 10 pages and 10k words.  It took a long time but it was worth it.  I also had to put a case together for a S harrassment / bullying case at work.  It was so draining.  I thought we were going to lose our jobs.  (There was more than one person targeted) luckily I wasnt alone.  But it was worth it.  Luckily the ceo was female and progressive.  But so stressful.  I get what you are going thru.  Sitting with you at this time.

Re: ~ The Toolshed ~

@scruffypuffball  Wow that is heavy. Really heavy. Was it cathartic to work through it?

Re: ~ The Toolshed ~

i had to put a case for the psych ward as family member was abusive, they were going to discharge without meds.  It was like I was preparing for a court case.  Had to keep it clinical.  Dont present as emotional, just present as cold hard facts.  Eg on this day he did this, on this date he hit me etc.  Went thru 20 years of it, tears streaming down my face.  In the end they were shocked by what they read and noticed he was showing symptoms in the ward.  Mums account also corroborated with mine.  They did neurological testing found he has ASPD no conscience or empathy.  They then rehabilitated his behaviour and when dischared he stopped being abusive.  Not because he was sorry for what he did, psychopaths dont care.  But because they warned him they would get police involved and catt team.  Abusers only respond to consequences not if they hurt someone.  So yeah it was worth it.  Violent people require expert psychiatric intervention.

I am not saying that you will get good outcomes all the time, no matter the outcome, you have to have a "nothing to lose" mentality.
