HELP! Carers SA Award Nominations Needed

Hi all

I work for the South Australian Community Achievement Awards and we are seeking nominees for the Carers SA Carer Achievement Award.

It would be really fabulous if you were able to nominate yourself or somebody you know - we are really hoping to get more people recognised as you're a humble group!

Please nominate an amazing carer here. Nominations are being extended until Wednesday 26th August, I have attached more information below:

"Family carers provide unpaid care and support to family members and friends who have a disability, mental illness, chronic condition, terminal illness or who are frail aged. Carers are an integral part of Australia's health system and are the foundation of our aged, disability, palliative and community care systems. Caring can happen to anyone, anytime. In Australia there are 2.7 million carers and an estimated 243,000 family carers in South Australia.

The Carer Achievement Award recognises a South Australian family carer who has not only provided substantial long term care but who has also worked to improve the recognition, services and supports for other carers. Carers SA presents this award to celebrate this individual achievement in championing the carer cause to improve the lives of family carers in South Australia.

Category Guidelines:
- Be a current or past family carer who has had a substantial long term caring role with recent caring    experience
- Not be a paid carer and not be fulfilling their caring role as part of a volunteer program
- Be over 18 years of age"
