Hi everyone!

 

On Thursday 28th of September 2023, we will be holding a Peer Group Chat on the topic of Move with Motivation.

It is very common to procrastinate when we lack motivation to do certain things. Let’s come together to learn from one another why we might struggle with procrastination and what we can do to get moving with motivation

 

The event start times across Australia are below:

Western Australia: 5pm 
Northern Territory & South Australia: 6:30pm 

Queensland, New South Wales, Australian Capital Territory, Victoria & Tasmania: 7pm

 

For anyone unfamiliar with Peer Group Chats, each focuses on a specific topic and is guided by Peer Workers with lived experience of mental health issues and recovery, &/or caring for someone with complex mental health. A counsellor is also present as a moderator to help ensure a safe environment for individuals and the group. It is a space for us as peers to share our stories and experiences, and connect with those who are going through something similar.

I'm keen to join this peer group chat. I've joined Topic Tuesdays before, and discussions in forum threads, but I'm not sure how to join a peer group chat... 

 

for some reason, when I've tried to join a group chat in the past, I couldn't work it out  😕

 

is it different somehow?

The Peer Group Chat is through a link on our website to a platform called Chatwee, where we have a big discussion in a group chat (so a little different to a Topic Tuesday or posting in threads on our forums!) 

 

Here is the link for more information and how to access the chat on the night.

Hi @amber22 I didn't make it to the group chat yesterday, but will get to one soon! 

a couple more questions:

can I use the same username and password for Chatwee as I use for the Sane forums? 

I realise that it's live and people can't comment on the chat after the event, but I can create my chatwee account any time, can't I?

and then just use that account to log in and get the confirmation code when the peer group chat is happening...

So lovely to hear from you 🙂

 

Yes of course you can use your forums name as your username, and yes it would be good to make an account before the event but you can also just do it on the night when you log in too (but make sure that you are logged into your account, and not as a 'guest' so that you're able to comment on the actual discussion). 

 

Then on the night just use the link from our website here and come along!

I'm coming to you all this week with a question from someone in our community; How to move without being motivated? Because I find motivation can be unreliable. @TideisTurning For me it's positive self talk ie. You can do this, if I don’t I am letting myself down, you are loved and important and the like.
