Re: My Mosaic

@Bow noice!! You show em!! Teeth bared and no backing down, eh? 💪😎

And props to your SW, glad you got that extra support. Maybe you two can make a list together of what you wanna cover!

Wallpaper...IN drawers? Huh... smart cookie, that would look cool!

Aww cute, yes please do share!! Hmm wish I had some creative stuff to share. I have been tryna put together a spiderweb chain belt but it's very finnicky!

Re: My Mosaic

Just gotta remember to do it respectfully yeah @Jynx ? I remember when my old psychologist left and they stuffed me around for ages with a replacement. I was there seeing my CM and she was being painful and stuffing me about and I stormed outta that place, prob slammed a door and I definitely swore at my CM and the receptionist 🫣

Not IN the drawers, just on the fronts

i got so many craft projects on the go. I’m struggling a little with the fact that the downstairs craft space we have set up has no natural light. Doesn’t have any windows. I keep bringing everything upstairs to do. Doesn’t help that it’s also winter and probably feels a bit colder down there too. But perhaps if I just made an effort to do something down there then it will actually be ok. But I have a couple of book sculptures on the go, my junk journal, the wall papering, my cricut. Need to throw it all down stairs

you got much on over the weekend?

Re: My Mosaic

@Bow honestly makes sense - it's literally your recovery journey, and trauma-brain not getting its needs met feels like a threat to survival. I have been known to slam a door in anger too 😅

OH right lol ... i have picked up night stands from side of the road that seem to have the drawers lined with wallpaper so I thought 'maybe it's a thing?' 😝

I wonder.... if there's no light down there, could it become more of a loungeroom area? Cuddle up to watch a movie, no sunshine gonna glare off the tv! And then you have a room for crafting where the light would reach? I dunno lol it's your space!

Wait that's not a typo is it? You don't have a sudden interest in electronics and that isn't meant to say circuit? Is a cricut like for cutting special shapes into paper and stuff orrrrr...?

Not really, just popping the kitties into their silly lil shirts for their flea treatment and tryna find motivation to clean 😅

Re: My Mosaic

It really is out of character for me to be slamming doors and swearing @Jynx  but yeah trauma brain eh.

I think it was most definitely a thing to line drawers back in the old days. I’ve grabbed a few bits of furniture with old paper in it. Maybe once upon a time the paper was smelly too? Ya can buy that kinda drawer liners now days to make your clothes smell all fresh and pretty.

nope not a typo lol. I got myself a cricut machine last week. And yeah it cuts all sorts of things. I’ve decorated all our drink bottles.

Ah ya still chugging along with the cleaning/tidying?  Or just general cleaning?

we went op shopping this morning, scored a few things. And I did some painting. Now just lounging around

Re: My Mosaic

@Bow allo!

Yep it's like a toddler sometimes takes over my brain 😅

omg modern technology.... I wonder if I could find one that smelled like campfire smoke!

Decorated how? My drink bottle is covered in stickers hehehe

I actually think that machine sounds perfect for this idea I had - did I tell you about discovering my ceiling is metal and thus magnetic? I wanna cut out a whole bunch of magnets into tiny footprints and/or paw prints and make a line of them along the roof! So it looks like a critter has been scampering around upsidedown teehee! But the idea of using scissors to cut out like 20-30 little feet and then hundreds of little toes sounds soooo tedious 🫣

Does pottering count as cleaning? 🤣 I don't think my house looks any cleaner, but I did some dusting and tidied a couple lil piles away, did some hand washing, and mucked about trying to get my blackout curtains to fully blackout the window.... that took longer than I thought it would! We won't talk about the pile of dirty dishes and the laundry I keep nearly tripping over, no no 😝

Nice and double nice! I love to hear that you're painting, has it been a while or have I just not heard about it of late?

Re: My Mosaic

Probably not @Jynx  they are mostly flower smelling ones.

Well I put my daughter name on her school drink bottle and a couple of dragons. I put ‘Grammy’ on my mums. And I cut out a whole heap of Alice in wonderland silhouette images and covered my drink bottle in them.

would the little critter prints be like glow in the dark? I don’t know if the cricut would cut out magnets, but it could cut out something else and then you could stick a little magnet on the back of it? But that is indeed a very cool idea!

sounds like you got some stuff done today!

I did some washing today… and still have more to do but it’s really wet. Lots of rain today. we have a dryer but we don’t use it much, but might need to to get D’s school uniforms dry.
Our new house has a little… hmm.. village of shops including a laundromat and every time I walk past it I get the smell of the dryers and I love it. My old workplace had a physio downstairs and whenever I went down to the garage to get a car I would smell the dryer there too, doing all their towels.

I painted furniture. It’s a little bit fiddly but I actually mostly enjoyed it. Relaxing.

Re: My Mosaic

@Bow aww cute!! Grammy hehe - my niece and nephew call my grandma 'GG' - stands for great grandma - but they soften the g sound (to that one sound we don't have in English so I don't have a way of writing it, just explaining 🤣 It's like sh but with sound? It's in a lot of Mandarin I think) and it sounds soooo cute!

The ceiling is white so I was thinking black for the contrast... but I do actually have glow in the dark paint! Hmmm maybe lil glowing outlines? Ooh orrrr I could use UV and they only show up when I turn on my UV lights? Decisions decisions! As usual you have dealt me some delightful inspiration!!

My clothes have been taking forever to dry! Either inside - no moving air and cold...and my house does NOT have good ventilation; or outside where it rains on em every other day! Alas.

Ooh yes love a bit of flow state! Can't wait to see what they look like - if you feel up to sharing!

Re: My Mosaic

I do love hearing what people call their grandparents @Jynx some are so unique. My mum has always been Grammy, my D called her it and now my niece calls her it too which I love hearing.

That would look so cool! Hope you find the creative juices to make them little critter prints and can show us!

Would a lot of Melbourne folks own dryers? Must be hard getting clothes dry down there. Our old house had an huge undercover area and we only ever hung clothes there, not outside on the line. We don’t have that now.

Re: My Mosaic

@Bow I kinda like the idea of having human footprints that slowly morph into animal - like a werewolf crept across my roof! Hehe

I guess so? I don't even have a washing machine so I usually take it to a friend's house - which also means I'm typically doing like a month's worth at a time 😅

Re: My Mosaic

Hey @Jynx  this is my junk journal that I made from a little golden book. Watched a couple of videos on TikTok and it was pretty easy to do.
Pulled the book apart completely and made 4 separate ‘signatures’ (the 4 seperate sections of pages in the last photo) I used pages from the original book, scrapbooking paper, pages from a pattern book, music book, magazine and other random scraps of paper. Then I sewed it all together.

I somehow managed to collect 3 copies of this book but it was still hard to cut it up! I picked up a couple more little golden books today on my op shop crawl.

I just crawled into bed, hoping to get a sleep in tomorrow. I had planned one for this morning but was woken rudely at 6:30am by a really loud clap of thunder and D ended up in my bed and then I couldn’t get back to sleep.

I shall say goodnight 💜
