This is new for me, I usually have a psych that I see but they have had to take extended long service, so I'm temporarily lost. Over the last 5 years, my physical health has been declining. I have recently had a fall which ended with me in hospital with traumatic brain injury and severe concussion. I now have to use a walking frame (not all of the time) and have trouble with balance etc. My husband, who I am so thankful for, and is caring, understanding and loving, now has to do a lot (most) of the home duties. I feel so completely useless because I have to take time and figure out if I can do things or not, and when I can, I have to take breaks so I don't overdo things. Most of my time is spent in bed, which is not what I want. This is also one of the things that is affecting our sex life. The other two things affecting sex with us is, #1 - my childhood sexual abuse and #2 my shitty feelings about my appearance, which he says he loves. See what I mean? Where do I start?

Hello @Catlove and welcome to the forums. Firstly well done for reaching out, that takes alot of strength. I'm so sorry to hear about your recent fall and I can only imagine how hard it is for you. I understand how you may be feeling useless but you are doing your best given the situation. The fact that you are still doing things even if it takes you longer cos you need to take breaks is something you should be proud of. Hopefully given time things will get a bit easier for you.
It's great that your husband is caring, understand and loving and I'm sure he is more than happy to help with things. Have you been able to chat to your psych about the childhood sexual abuse? There's alot of help out there and you've already taken that step with seeing a psych and reaching out here.
Please know that you are not alone and we are here to support you however we can. Take care of yourself 😊
