@NatureLover I hope one way or another the raking got done before tomorrow's rain.
I dropped the gift and didn't go to the party.
Today I found space on a couple of tabletops. Partly through admitting defeat and reboxing some computer stuff. I haven't used the computers in ages and am now a bit phobic so I'm unlikely to sort the floppy discs anytime soon.
I'm tired. Some difficult moments and memories today.
Hope work was OK today and not chaotic after the unexpected departure of your boss.

Hi @Dimity , well done on sticking up for yourself by not going to the kid's birthday party.
My neighbour insists on doing the raking at some point!
Good for you on creating space on two tables. 👍
Work was a bit better yesterday and I stuck up for myself and asked to go back to doing what I prefer, plus possibly offloading some of it. We'll have to wait and see whether I'm listened to or not by the interim manager.
Also, yesterday all the neighbours including me were notified of an inspection next Tuesday. 😲 So today will be a matter of errands plus boxing up the remainder of the stuff in the kitchen and storing it in the shed. I'll have to sort it out as I go, so as to pull out the urgent stuff to keep back - as we all know, the shed is the bottomless pit where nothing ever comes out of again!!
I've already arranged to have next Monday off work. I'll see how I go today and tomorrow, then decide whether to have this Thursday off as well or not.
Sorry to hear you're so tired. It's exhausting facing difficult memories. Sending hugs 🫂

Ohhh @NatureLover another dreaded inspection. And despatching more to the bottomless shed. I feel for you.
It's possibly easier for paid workers as they usually have a position description and allocated responsibilities. Perhaps you could draft something.
I shared my memory and it was acknowledged so I was able to move on.
I had someone visit today to help with the garden job so I didn't walk. I missed a couple of walks last week too, which is very unusual for me. I think I need them.
I'm pressing on but my to-do list hasn't budged for a while as other things keep coming up. Vet tomorrow.

Thanks for your kind words, @Dimity . I'm cross with myself as yesterday I froze up, and then to come unstuck I just fluffed around doing tiny things, nothing useful! Unfortunately this is my usual reaction to the announcement of an inspection. Hoping to get stuck into things today.
Yes, I'm hoping I "sold" my skills in a way that management will take notice of. In lieu of a written position description, I described my role verbally.
I'm glad to hear your memory was acknowledged and you could move on, that's great. 👍
Did the garden helper actually listen to you yesterday and do what you wanted?
Good luck to you and your cat for the vet today...

Yes I know the fluffing around thing @NatureLover . And moving things rather than putting them away or throwing them out. Often it's because we don't actually have a designated place for them.
It was one of my family helping in the garden, not the paid helper this time.
The cat's vet visit went well thanks. He got his arthritis injection and a couple of other issues sorted. It's always a bit stressful for both of us especially wrangling taxis.
Are you going to work tomorrow? I know you'll have a lot on your plate either way.
I'll have to tackle my to-do list, there are important things that are well overdue. I think sometimes I've been expending emotional effort on getting along with people leaving less capacity for other things.

I know that feeling @Dimity . We have only limited emotional energy and it doesn't cover everything we need to deal with 😥
That's nice you had a family member over to help in the garden.
It must be difficult arranging a taxi visit with taking a cat! And I suppose you don't know if the taxi will be on time either. I'm glad Tiger is OK.
Yesterday I met a friend for coffee and then achieved hardly anything in the afternoon 😣 So I decided to take today off work. I was concerned about having to lie to the interim boss - but it turns out I didn't have to lie as I woke up feeling rotten (stomach). I'm still in bed at 10.30. I hope to be able to get up a bit later and do some work of some sort on the house.
I have lunch with a friend scheduled for tomorrow - one of our 5-hour lunches - but I suspect I might have to cancel that too. 😣
Good luck with your To Do list...

I hope you're OK @NatureLover . One of the family is very ill at present with gastro.
Good luck with the house this afternoon I trust you'll be well enough to try. If not do take care of yourself. And seek medical advice if you need to.

Thanks @Dimity . My neighbour helped me yesterday - I couldn't face the shed so he got out some boxes he had in there, I packed all the rest of the kitchen junk up and he put them back in the shed for me.
So now it's "just" the cleaning I need to do. Am feeling much better today physically but not great mentally - my MH always takes a dive before an inspection.
I need to go out on errands today including the chemist. Trying to psych up for that now.
How are you feeling? What do you have on?

I know how apprehensive you get before inspections @NatureLover and it's understandable, with the judgement and the risk of germs. I trust you got a few things done today.
I've been to a couple of major shopping centres trying to sort out my internet. I've got going with an expensive new plan that's 5G not cable NBN so I won't have to deal with the neighbours. I'd lost track of chores and other jobs so will have to catch up. I feel a bit overwhelmed as I'm sure you do too.

Thanks, @Dimity . It's also the fear of homelessness, which gets worse before an inspection.
All I've achieved since Tuesday is packing up the junk in the kitchen and scrubbing 2 walls of the shower!
Well done on sorting out your internet, despite it being expensive. I think it's all getting more expensive 😥
That overwhelmed feeling sucks, doesn't it. It gets in the way of starting 😣
Good luck with chores and any other jobs you have to do today...
