Night Shift

Re: Night Shift

I'm *glad you like it.

Re: Night Shift

@Faith-and-Hope  After feeling tired most of the day and a couple of short naps I'm now feeling like I won't sleep for ages.  Typical lately.  Yet at the same time I'm finding it difficult to get into any other activity.  Just put a poem called 'The Land of Enuf' on the Writing as a Form of Therapy thread but I think most of the other writers have knocked off for the night.

How was your day after your broken night?  Did you sort things out with your daughter?

Re: Night Shift

It's been quite an emotional day really.

Still thinking about Jennifer ...

One of our daughters is getting married later this year, so visiting a dressmaker for the bridesmaids was on the agenda today.  Two other daughters are in the bridal party.  All of that was really sweet.

Our youngest is suffering ongoing health issues, exacerbated by stress from my husband's undiagnosed MI - just a fact of life till it runs its course - but distressful none-the-less.  She has been off school again with bad headaches this week, presumably from a virus that has been going through us, but it's time to take her to the GP tomorrow if she's no better.

Son no. 2 got really reactive with her tonight, distressed himself at seeing her off school again, which is contributing to the vicious cycle of (high-stress) catch-up of missed work.  It's frustration boiling over, now that dad (husband) is away again and the strain of walking on eggshells is lifted for a while.  We are all tired, like a backwash is happening.  Had to play referee there.  She needs understanding, not criticism.  She's getting enough of that from frustrated teachers who don't have an understanding of our bigger picture themselves.

Is this as clear as mud so far ? 😏

Re: Night Shift

Sorry I disappeared there @Faith-and-Hope.  Thanks for sharing your story with me.  I went to bed ever hopeful of some hours of sleep and only got a half hour nap. .

Re: Night Shift

Still around @eth@Faith-and-Hope, anyone?

I too went to bed for about an hour and woke up again. Still feeling a bit creepy in my room at night. Need to get up to let that feeling pass before going back to it.

Re: Night Shift

Hi @Mazarita

sorry that creepy feeling is around... its noisy and windy here tonight.. lots of thumps and bumps.. so watching netflix to distract

how are you?

Re: Night Shift

Sorry I disappeared for a bit @Former-Member. I was participating in a thread in the carer's forum, a woman who is very concerned about her husband who is behaving very much like he has major bipolar. I was giving her some information about what it is like from the inside. Hope you found the anxiety discussion tonight interesting as I did. No easy answers but got my mind working on different angles on it. I'm basically okay though I think I may be a little hypermanic in general. Lots happening that is exciting creatively on the internet but my daily life has been neglected over recent days. Also sleep is becoming increasingly erratic. Will be speaking to my psychiatrist about this when I see him in a couple of weeks. I think about your situation and feel for you with it, though I'm not always able to find the words to express this or know how to advise you. I hope at least in the later night that you are enjoying a bit of time with Netflix.

Re: Night Shift

Hiya @Mazarita 😊

I'm still around.  Just chatting with someone new on the Carer's forum.  She has a son newly diagnosed with an MI, just out of a hospital stay from first episode psychosis.  She is Skylark, if anyone wants to take a look and help her find which way is up ... She is having to learn the support ropes and medication monitoring, with younger children to manage too.

Hi @Former-Member 😊

Sounds like you two are relating to the same  awkward feeling.  I hope it passes quickly and you can get some rest.

My youngest is uptight and restless tonight, and a bit creeped out with what I think are just more stress symptoms.  I might be seeing you on and off on Night Shift again tonight if she doesn't settle.
