I'm so sorry to hear that @StuF . Are you looking to consider finding something else in the meantime?
I hope it all works out for you.

Thanks @tyme
Trying to sign up with a DES provider. Am on pension, fortunately, so thinking I might try 6 months volunteering at Vinnies while I maybe do some training and see what's around.
It's actually an opportunity. Been too long at this workplace, time to move on

Hey there @tyme 🙂🌺
If you were my neighbour I would drop some to your door 🙂🙌🏻
When covid was a lockdown thing for everyone, my then neighbours lost their income from their business, so I cooked them dinner 3 nights a week and left it on my doorstep, and I think their neighbours on the other side did the same. We got through together 🌺🙂
I usually make something for neighbours, and the people who help me..my mechanics got a bunch of anzac bics today for replacing the clock spring in my car 🙂
At one stage of lockdown, I ran out of food, and lost 10kg in around 3 weeks while I couldn’t access groceries (I have low immunity so I can’t go to shopping centres), which was quite challenging. However, I managed to contact local farmers by leaving notes to call me in their mailboxes, and asked them to leave a box of produce (whatever they grew at the time) near their gate and I’d leave money in their letterboxes. It worked 🙂🌺
The furthest I have sent something I’ve made is Nevada, USA…Turkish delight 🙂

That's so lovely @Former-Member ,
I did something similar during COVID (when I DID make time to cook). I'd cook for others and drop it off to their houses.
I'll have to be honest, but COVID lockdowns were one of the best things for me. It gave me stability and routine. I was so much healthier because I made time to exercise, sit down and eat, wind down etc. Of course I also recognise how hard that time was for many families.
But yes, I learnt a lot during COVID.

Thanks @tyme 🌺🙂
So nice of you to make food and drop it off like that during covid - from the people I’ve spoken to, some did indeed find covid lockdowns to have a positive impact like you’ve kindly shared about your experience 🌺🙂
Although I too saw how the lockdowns had a hard effect on other people 💜
By covid, I was used to lockdown, having been in isolation while trialling a high dose of immunosuppressants to treat bone marrow for around a year before the covid lockdowns. In a way, it was easier, because there were less people around, I was able to go outside more, visit parks, beaches, etc, with much less risk of contact. When things opened up again, I had to go back to spending more time at home, where I spend much of my time still, to minimise exposure.
One thing I found a momentary positive was how people changed their outlook regarding me wearing a mask/gloves/shield and asking politely for social distancing, before any of it was a ‘thing’..people went from being forthright with negative sentiment, to asking me for advice on where and what to buy regarding ppe, how to sanitise shopping items and fresh produce, and how to mix your own bulk sanitisers for a variety of surfaces. One small positive 🙂🌺

Hey guys,
That was a very enlightening peer group chat wasn’t it? I enjoyed it and learnt a lot about my own thoughts on the matter. Its not something I am aware of on a daily basis
