Re: Functioning with ADHD

@tyme my psych and pdoc are aware that I’ve had periods of disassociation. I can touch base when I have an appointment next. My next psych appointment is in two weeks, pdoc is in almost a month.

@AuntGlow it can be frustrating when something doesn’t quite work. I’m trying to breathe, I know I’ve gotten through rough patches before and this will pass. I think I might do my nighttime skincare right now to wind down

Re: Functioning with ADHD

Look at that - you're very good at reframing and taking care of yourself. I know it's hard right now and I am really proud of you for reaching out to ask for support. In the same breath, I want to remind you of the things you are doing well, because there are many. @creative_writer 🩷

Re: Functioning with ADHD

@AuntGlow this anxiety is excruciating today. Can’t do anything since I’m too overwhelmed. It only feels like it’s getting worse and worse day by day

Re: Functioning with ADHD

I'm here with you @creative_writer. I know things feel intense for you right now, so would you prefer to be able to talk through what is happening or look at some strategies to soothe and ground? 💛

Re: Functioning with ADHD

@AuntGlow anxiety has eased. Feeling sad about all the suffering in the world

Re: Functioning with ADHD

I hear you, it's hard to simply ignore what is happening - and nor should we. Though, I understand it can be hard to know how to help those experiencing immense suffering, and that can create a sense of overwhelm, can't it?

What would you like to do to help those who need support? @creative_writer 💛

Re: Functioning with ADHD

@AuntGlow it can be hard to ignore. I do think we do need to help other people, whether it is through charity, prayers or even going into healthcare (mental health workers often work with refugees)

Re: Functioning with ADHD

Hey @creative_writer ,

How are you tonight?

Re: Functioning with ADHD

@tyme I feel the anxiety levels is picking up, not sure why. I also have SI (safe). I can’t think of anything apart from the regular self care to soothe it. I also have the meds, but I’m trying to not take it because of side effects.

How are you?

Re: Functioning with ADHD

Thank you for confirming your safety @creative_writer Much appreciated.

As for your anxiety, can you take control of your breathing so as to reduce those feelings of anxiety?
