When things become desperate, all your evaluations of aligning with the values on a cultural lens get thrown out, @tyme. Furthermore, imposter syndrome kicks in for tools I have never used

On the second point, it was cool to talk to her after years. In the past, we used to visit her place for sleepovers and dinners

A couple of screening interviews went nowhere due to my residency status, and there has not been much activity on the application front, as I'm finishing up some stuff with my company.

However, I went on a hike on the northern outskirts

@Lowrida29 ahh that's tough when the residency status part is out of your hands. sounds like work's been pretty busy for you too. glad you got to hike in the northern outskirts at least! have you got much planned for the rest of the week?

Well, @rav3n, I get to say goodbye to the crew, and hike again over the weekend. I'm also expecting my parents to check in over the weekend.

I'm starting to think my residency status is a curse, and an obstacle to better opportunities in this job market. I feel like a second class person

i'm so sorry you feel that way. my parents, family friends and some of my schoolmates have also shared with me the difficulty of finding employment. even just the general treatment they received from others wasn't great at times... you all deserve support and respect.

I have a couple of first round interviews with two big 4 firms, and they were horrible. I think I'm expecting back to back rejections
