Struggling with MH

Re: Struggling with MH

Thats funny @Snowie. i got up feeling i was going to do things, but then just went flat feeling everything is pointless and now i just want to sleep

Re: Struggling with MH

I reached out to my son a couple of days ago, stupidly letting him know how unwell i actually am, to which he said i am always negative  which is not true. I am negative when there are things happening in my life that are very upsetting. I wont mention how i am again to him. Best to pretend all is ok

Re: Struggling with MH

I dont know any of them @tyme so i will go lions as well

Re: Struggling with MH

Beautiful day here too @tyme

@magpie4 I'm sorry your son said that to you. It must be hard not being able to talk to him about your MH.

Re: Struggling with MH

Yrs @Snowie it was diasappointing. So back to not saying anymore. He is busy, as is everybody.

Re: Struggling with MH

Do you have anyone that you can discuss things with @magpie4? We all need people/person around us that we can talk too. I know I save those moments for when I see my psych. I don't want to dump it all on my husband.

Re: Struggling with MH

@Snowie I do speak with my brothers and sister, however, I have exhausted them and cant talk to them all the time regarding this issue.  they have their own lives to live.  However, they are extremely concerned for me.  I do see a Psychologist, who I am seeing next week, however an hour every few weeks does nothing for you really, except I can vent for an hour without feeling like I am burdening someone, $$$'s as well.

Re: Struggling with MH

I understand that @magpie4  I only get a hour every other week with my psych too. It is a good outlet but sometimes I need more then that. Plus it can get really expensive.

I sometimes write a list of what I want to talk to my psych about. I never get through the list but at least I get through a few.

This forum is a great place to use for that support in between appointments. Sane also has a guided service too that gives you one on one time with a support worker. You have to apply for it and it does take awhile as they have a waiting list, but it might be something you can look into.

Re: Struggling with MH

thank you @Snowie I do write things down as well for the appointments.  And you are right, you need more than that time and I am glad I have found this site.  thanks you for all the hints.

Re: Struggling with MH

Hearing you @magpie4 . I do that too. I write things down between appointments because I know I can't see my psych much. I had an appointment booked in last week, but then he cancelled on me. I haven't seen him in over 6 months!!!

So yes, I make the most of these appointments.

Do you know about SANE's Guided Service?
