After advice

Hi, I'm a new user here. First time poster.
I am in the process of getting diagnosed with Complex PTSD.
I have struggled with depression and anxiety since a young age. I also have social anxiety, so doing things out of my comfort zone alone is something I find very difficult.

6 months ago, I left a DV relationship I was in for 14 years ( my whole adult life). I also lost my dog who was 12 in Dec last year.

my therapist has suggested a rehab i could go to, to help with my cannabis usage and housing situation. Ive been struggling with rent since my ex has moved out and my lease is up in a few weeks.

i desperately want my life to get better and feel more full but don't trust myself making decisions anymore.

Should i take this leap of faith and go to this rehab? like whats the worst that could happen hey...

Hello @Sinna and welcome to the forums. Thankyou for sharing and reaching out, it takes alot of strength to open up to others.

It's great that you are in the process of getting diagnosed and hopefully you can get the support you need to help you on your journey to recovery. I have PTSD, depression and anxiety and other mental health issues. I struggle alot with doing anything socially related so I know how you feel.

You should be so proud of yourself for leaving the DV relationship, i know from experience myself many times that it's not easy to do. I'm so sorry to hear about your dog, I too lost my dog last year and she was only 3 years old and was my assistance dog. The pain from losing a pet is horrible.

I hear your therapists suggestion and it really does sound like a good opportunity for you. Only you can make that decision, I'd encourage you to really think about it and the benefits that it could provide you with. Sometimes we need to take that leap of faith and to see where it takes us.

Please know that you are not alone and we are here to support you however we can. Take care of yourself 😊

Re: After advice

Hi @Sinna

I saw your post and was wondering how things are going for you now?

I’m so sorry about your dog - it’s such a huge loss when they’ve been with you so long and through so much.

It would be great to hear how you’re going - however that is - if you feel like sharing.

Warm thoughts to you.
