hey @DnzCal welcome to the forums!
if you're looking for online friends, we've got social spaces, threads like Best Friends Club, and chat threads every friday, sat and sunday evenings where you can connect with the community.
if you're looking for in-person places, there are a few apps and sites like 'Meetup' where there are social events you can join in near you.
if you search up "social groups near *insert suburb/city*" there tends to be more options. for example, for people that live in Sydney, there's a social media page called Sydney Social Group. I've seen some social run clubs open up in Melbourne too.
i found it was easier making friends through events. at uni i joined a cultural club and they held clubbing events, movie nights and balls, etc. i took one of my friends to these events and we ended up meeting a bunch of new people there that we really related to. if your in uni, joining a club can be helpful - if not, even your local council might offer activities/clubs to participate in.
i hope this helps!

Hey @DnzCal , hope you are well.
@rav3n has some good options for you.
There are so many options and all depends on what kind of friends who are looking for.
Finding like-minded people is community events is a great start because you know you have something already in common.
Pen pals and online groups are relaxed and another way to be connected. Sporting events, even a sport game sitting with similar fans is easy enough to make new friends and because of regular games you know that the similar people will be there each week.
If sports no good, church, book clubs, even trivia nights you can join a team and make new friends.
Plenty of choices just need to work out what type of friendship, local or on the net and what kind of things you would like to do, remember there are plenty of people looking to connect with you so find the most comfortable things for you to start off and just be yourself.
Good Luck
