Hi to all reading this post, I would like to express my thoughts and experiences on one of my hardest parts to my journey, Asking for help. To be completely honest I was past the point of asking and it wasn't until I was admitted to ED and had mental health professionals and Drs telling me I needed help. My moment of reaching out for help was to my big sister and biggest supporter who became my carer. The words hardly came out of my mouth but once finally expressing how much I needed help and support the weight on my shoulders instantly eased off. For me i am lucky to have very supportive sisters, for some it may not be so easy but that is why I am so passionate about being apart of this community of members to help others be able to reach out and ask for help and know that they are not alone, that there is such a wide range of people and services here to support them every step of the way. To help break the stigma and fear of asking for help, to express how powerful it is to be able to show and express how you are feeling and quite often then be able to meet people feeling similar and understand in ways. To assist and support through lived experiences and with pure intentions. Being apart of such an empowering and informative community that Sane has created is not just wholesome but rewarding. For me being the change and spreading kindness, equality, love and support everywhere I go to try be the change this world needs is my part in this world and hopefully I can help and inspire others along the way.

Thanks @MissLil
I try to inspire others too - it gives me a platform of sorts I guess - where I can use my past challenges and current events to maintain a voice that allows others to be heard - and to hear.
Life is not easy - my own childhood was traumatic - no need for details - and my adult life accumulated PTSD - most of which I have overcome or deal with - I am a senior now and I have reached this point in life through trial and error - and still life throws curved balls - I continue though.
Asking for help isn't easy - but necessary. I recently had surgery and asked for a pre-med and got it - people listened - and it is really something when our needs are taken seriously and we are cared for.
It can happen - and I am glad you also seek to inspire others.
