Thankyou for you letter @Owlunar  and I do hope there is some improvement to that shoulder of yours.    There is much to like about your response to  'goals'.    Even though they have there benefits,  it explains my aversion to gymnasiums.   The goal I work on most is to remember to always be grateful for the little I have and what ever comes to my door is a bonus.  The rest is just half finished airships. .

Without even trying to find it,  the  S S  NDIS  steamship dropped anchor at my door.  It will run out of coal to blow all that steam in time.  But   while the bistro is open,  I'm in line with my podge stick and bowl,  saying thankyou.   And when It sinks,  I'll just say thanks again and at the next unexpected pink rhinoceros I meet on my journey.   Any shrink that ever asked me   "where do you see yourself in 5 years"   got the phone book torn in two,   look.

I agree with you about trying to hard to impress others.   I probly do need to lift my game a touch and have my annual hair cut,    " if they can hold me down"

But.  .  .  .  You may shift a little uncomfortably when I say this,    I don't need to tell you that there is a difference between trying to impress,  and sharing with the rest of us a rare gift.

I know I'm overstepping but hear it is. . .    You said that piece you wrote was unpublished.

Imagine that,  along with goodness knows what else you've   got in in carboard boxes got lost or forgotten.   I for one would feel robbed.     I googled sonnet and got a handle on just why it sounds so good.   And I still cant get the damn thing out of my head. . !       Mate . . . that needs to be unleashed.

Ok  I'm off meds for a day or two,  so no more lectures.   I always look forward to anything you write.

There Is  a  town  C . .    but  thats for some other day.

Ahhh @Owlunar Another thing we have in common.  I started Classical Civ as mature age HSC.  Had to drop out cos I dropped me bike on the bloomin tram track in rain to Malvern Town Hall.  Was living with someone who specialised in it, and found it fascinating, but by the time I was back on the study train I did other things.  Never regretted the little dip into the subject.  The fellow actually was an uncle and took his life years later just after my sis died. His wife gave me his books cos I was the main one who would appreciate them.  

Nup never been easy. Kind of easier nowadays.  Playing harder and laughing harder now.

I did some searching to try and find the whole sonnet I wrote some years ago - I couldn't - still you wrote:

You are not overstepping - I am happy to share though I can't remember all of it - I can improvise - it is worth sharing - I have lost contact with the man I wrote it for and that was for the best - we all have many experiences in our lives and I am happy to copy this for you to share now.

Australia's child who patriotism shares

O H      M  Y    G O O D N E S S  . . .! ! !      @Owlunar    and you left that on a dusty shelf in some back room of your mind.  I hate to tell you this but eventually all our motels, falling into disarray will end up land fill sites with crosses on them,  and there is a responsibility for the culture and tressures within,  to be carefully removed and celebrated.  For so many the world is a mundane place,   Bestowed onto a single person from  place in the universe we are yet to

understand,  in your twilight years you have duty of care to uplift the hearts of the common  man by passing on your intellectual art.

Went  a  bit  overboard with that . . .didnt I. . . .    but that is what you poetry does for me.

O k heres  the short version.  So I am a simple  6 foot 5 inch farmer,    thats  enough to grab your ankles  and shake whatever else is hidden in there out out of you.

The nice version now   mate . . . .  it  is simply  beautiful...

You asked about daisy and if there was a way she could exist in town  A . .

well . . .   daisy was actually a real friend of mine,  and her story I would like to tell you one day. .    but  I'm shining after looking at your Monae,   I will snuggle into dreamland with those 

thoughts.

I loved your exchanges  with  Hams.   gave me much to think about.  I think my book keeper wants to stay here full time and Its a real challenge trying to decipher her body language and 

signals.  She smart in ways I cant quite figure,  and  if you saw me,  well lets just say she is way out of my league ,   different to any one that has stayed here before.

 So the universal choice is always compromise  or we live on our own.    I have always liked the compromise road.

Just how much,   well we will see.   Its just so good to have someone fussing about the place

In fact,  you know what,     I think I like the wooden spoon and a bit of nagging. . .
