Life after pshycosis
Hi there
I suffered a bad episode of psychosis in April last year. Since then I feel like I’m having a really hard time coming back from it. I miss myself … I miss feeling joy and happiness. This was a first for me so I have never been down this road. I have found myself buying self help books on both depression and bipolar trying to find some relief and some way out of this hole 🕳 was just wondering if anyone here had any tips and tricks on how to escape this

Re: Life after pshycosis
For me, suddenly being free of hallucinations doesn't impact as strongly as trying to regroup after paranoid delusions
It can take a long while to reconfigure my belief system

Re: Life after pshycosis
@Ashleigh2 hi there..
I don't if I have psychosis. I've been feeling like I'm going through something like that but no official word on it because of lack of mental health care...I Doo know the feeling of being perpetually in a black hole. So much so I can no longer even read books.
The biggest thing for me to help lift me up is other people. At one time I identified as a recluse and private person. Yet these past six months I starve for people and interaction. I still have trouble socialising, but I long for others just the same. A touch of humanity, or human touch goes a long way, I've found. Apparently it stimulates the brains release of oxytocin.

Sounds good. Just be mindful of your selection... it can be a maze like experience and tiresome but can be worth it in the end hopefully. 🙏

Re: Life after pshycosis
Hi @Ashleigh2 , I developed some psychotic symptoms years ago that progressed to depression, if you are describing a 'black hole' that might be depression related.

I haven't...
Time with people helps sometimes...
Hugs 🫂
But for me it's like if I don't have someone regular in my life the isolation and darkness is too much... I used to handle being alone. I would design my life as such. But these days I despair to be alone.
